Kto je táto štýlová žena?

Keďže sa vám  Linda V Wright veľmi páčila, navštívili sme jej instagram a dozvedeli sme sa o nej, že sa narodila v roku 1948 v Texase, ale v roku 1978 nasadla do lietadla smer Paríž. Myslela si, že tam strávi len 2 -3 mesiace, ale žije tam dodnes. Pracovala pre módny dom Ralph Lauren, kde sa veľa naučila. Zmenilo jej to život a túto skúsenosť chcela využiť vo svojej vlastnej kreativite. Za svoju najcennejšiu skúsenosť považuje prijatie svojho individuálneho štýlu. Vytvorila si svoju vlastnú značku, ktorej zostala verná. Keďže jej najobľúbenejším kúskom sú nohavice a džínsy, snaží ich dopĺňať zaujímavými topánkami, šálmi, tričkami, pulóvrami, veľkými náušnicami a hotovo, je oblečená.

What does having Style mean, anyway? My take on that word is reserved for people who are consistently true to their look and have perfected it to define a way of life. Style does not necessarily mean one needs money to attain a style. I think of my Grandad (Calvin was his name and was of Cherokee Indian heritage). He only wore Osh Kosh plain denim or striped denim overalls with denim shirts (summer) or wool plaid Pendleton shirts (winter). His shoes were consistently black lace up boots (all year long). He retired from working in the oil fields of West Texas his whole life and there was no real money for dressing. He and my Granny eloped on horse back!!! They raised one son and six daughters so money was for the family. However his style was pronounced and so was his grooming. Side Note: I admire nice grooming!!! I cannot consider I have style when I am a little disheveled with a lot of nothing too deliberate lest it looks a little too determined!!! If throwing all that in the blender counts, that might be my style!! Today’s concoction includes @crimson_cashmere grey thick ribbed tunic crewneck with @therow pink silk trousers. I tucked another @sabinasavage silk scarf at the neck and then for warmth wrapped myself in a @victoriadetalhora pink and gold blanket made of silk, cashmere and camel hair. Sunglasses from @meyrowitz_opticiens and light beige suede boots from Henry Cuir (no longer exists by the way). Afterall this, I am still perplexed as to the meaning of style. Any ideas?

Remember in High School the kind of Cool Girl you were dying to call your friend? Well, this is That Kind of Girl. I met her some 30 years ago while we were both working at Ralph Lauren. I was in the creative services department (aka decorating windows) in Paris at Place de la Madeleine and Maria was in charge of production (aka Exceedingly Smart Girl) in Italy. I will never forget running into her a few years later after we had both moved on from Ralph Lauren. I was starting my own clothing line. Maria was already ahead of me in that game but did not hesitate to share with me her addresses of knitting professionals which had taken her many years and much effort to obtain. It changed the course of my life. I now specialize in knitwear!!! She opened those doors for me with her Generous Spirit!!! Maria has since moved into producing her own line of active wear @gossamerzen and has become an exercise guru. Once again….The girl is giving… always giving. Maria, as Jack Nicholson said to Diane Keaton in Something’s Gotta Give….You are a Girl to Love. And love you we do.

It’s Sunday. I am supposed to be in my office writing descriptions for the new products going on the website. I am not!!! Shhh. Do not tell Melanie, the brain behind this long overdue update. Am actually sitting in a Chinese restaurant in a part of town that is not usually in my zone. By zone I mean living and working radius. I am in such a rut!!! Getting out of one’s comfort zone is so very important. Please do not judge my simple foray into uncharted territories today. I know it’s only a few arrondissements away, but it took a positive decision to get here. Fighting back panic attacks because I am so late in getting my work done. So, I said Be quiet my head....calm down my racing heart.....go find yourself a mini adventure to bring back some of that missing courage. So, as destiny would have it, my Uber driver recommended J’y Suis La. Which translates I Am Here!!! Not sure where I am, but it feels good to look outside my old circle even if home is only 30 minutes across the river. I truly needed to raise my head and observe something else. P.S. The food was great!!!

Have a case of the winter wardrobe doldrums? Here was my recipe for the day....winter weight white denim jean @dior with a bubblegum pink rollneck worn under a bright orange crewneck (both from my shop). A New scarf is an easy way to perk up any wardrobe, and the one I am wearing today is from the new @pierrelouismascia for Crimson collection. This bright silk madras print will be my go to all spring and summer. I am already dreaming of a long summer night and teaming this scarf with a crisp white shirt. Madras has been a lifelong passion for me, and as @pierrelouismascia also offered his prints in silk shirts and silk pyjamas I am thrilled to have all articles in shop this season. Dangerous business trying to get a decent photo in the streets of Paris!!! Notice my hands in the air with outrage of someone yelling at me from their car to get out of the way!!! I mean seriously!!! Do they not realize the importance of what I am doing!!! I have a new pair of dark green velvet shoes from @manoloblahnikhq and a new bag from @parkerthatch I am trying to show you guys!!! Maybe they were jealous of my scarf from @sabinasavage and my sweater (super thin cashmere) from my very own shop @crimson_cashmere. Hey, emotions run the gamut when they see ME in the middle of the street trying to get a good photo to share with my friends!!! My emotions are not easily contained either when seeing my neck looking too saggy in one photo or my ever expanding mid section so apparent in another. Also, sometimes I forget to straighten myself up with shoulders back in order to look.....Well.....I cannot find a good word....Please fill in the blank? Hope your Back To School season goes easier than mine. Why do Parisiens seem low on patience after a month of vacation!!! Well, that is another problem. Meanwhile, I will try to stay on the sidewalks during photo shoots. Hope the neighborhood dogs will share their territory!!!

There is nothing that makes me happier when getting dressed than the need for textures. During my few days in St. Tropez this last week, I got my wish. This particular early evening gave me the right weather to mix things up a bit. Gold metallic Tropezienne sandals straight from the workshop where they are still handmade in the back room of @rondini_officiel in this iconic seaport town. They set the tone to accompany my tumeric colored cashmere crewneck and poncho from @crimson_cashmere and as usual my t-shirt from @45r__official. I carried my guanabanahandmade bag from morning to night until I dropped my chocolate ice cream all over it!!! You have had that happen on a summer night, right? The silk printed pant is something I have worn for several summers from @lapresticouiston. I have been collecting pieces from this chicissim French Girl for awhile as they are articles that never age and are sure to add a bit of fun to my look. I recently read that the way one dresses is a reflection of the way one wants to live. I could not have said it better myself. One day you will find me working from my cottage by the sea and calling my team constantly throughout the day to make sure they miss me!!!
